High School Retreat - March 20-22, 2014
High school retreat is a time of revitalization and renewal of body, mind and spirit with people your own age. Come join the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii high school youth in three days of faith formation and friendship. For many youth, this is offered during your Spring Break from school and for those of you that don't have Spring Break......How often does church encourage you to miss school for a really good reason? Please discuss with your parents, and ask them to consider how important faith education and spiritual awakening is for your development. And....we will eat great food, have tons of fun, and attend the Hawaiian Island Ministries (HIM) conference at the Hawaii Convention Center and the Lincoln Brewster concert on Friday night! Check out Lincoln Brewster on YouTube. Many of you will recognize his song "Everlasting God" among many other great contemporary Christian songs! The cost of the retreat is $100, and will cover all lodging, food, and convention and concert tickets. Any adults who are interested in chaperoning the event are welcome, but must be current on the "Safeguarding God's Children" training and approved by Sarah Klitzke, Diocesan Youth Director, prior to the event. We will be staying at the Diocesan-owned MacCray House near the UH (Manoa) campus. Drop off time is 4pm on Thursday, March 20th and pick up is 5pm on Saturday, March 22nd. This allows youth to return back to their own parishes on Sunday morning to share their experiences from the retreat. To register, click here! |
